Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival: Entebbe and Transfer to 2Friends Hotel
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport where your driver-guide will meet and welcome you. Relax after your flight with a short transfer to the 2Friends Hotel. This evening is a gentle introduction to Uganda—time to settle in, review the itinerary, and prepare for the adventure ahead. Overnight: 2Friends Hotel, Entebbe
Day 2 — Entebbe to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After breakfast, depart for Murchison Falls National Park with a meaningful stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola. Learn about Uganda’s rhino conservation efforts and view black and white rhinos in a protected setting. Continue to Murchison Falls, arriving in time for dinner and an early night. Day 3 — Murchison Falls: Morning Game Drive and Nile Boat Trip
Begin with an early game drive across the park’s rolling plains. Expect elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hartebeest, and a variety of antelope, with predators occasionally in view. In the afternoon, take a scenic boat trip along the Nile to the base of the falls. Watch for hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife as the river narrows and thunders through a dramatic 7 meter gorge. Overnight: Pakuba Lodge
Day 4 — Top of the Falls and Drive to Kibale Forest
Visit the Top of Murchison Falls for a close-up view of the gorge and the spectacular cascade. Then travel southwest toward Kibale Forest National Park, passing through Fort Portal and enjoying lush, hilly scenery and distant views of the Rwenzori Mountains. In the evening, explore the Bigodi Wetland for a community-led swamp walk and cultural encounters. Overnight: Turaco Treetop Lodge
Day 5 — Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale
Spend the morning tracking chimpanzees in Kibale Forest, home to the highest number of primate species in Africa. Expect to see chimpanzees plus red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus, and a rich birdlife including the Great Blue Turaco. The afternoon is free to relax at the lodge and enjoy forest views. Day 6 — Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s second-largest park, set beneath the Rwenzori range and between Lakes Edward and George. Prepare for an evening game drive across the Kasenyi plains where kobs, warthogs, and buffalo graze and predators hunt at dusk. Overnight: Buffalo Safari Lodge
Day 7 — Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Trip
Rise before dawn for a game drive to seek predators and early-morning wildlife activity. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a wildlife spectacle with huge hippo pods, elephants at the water’s edge, crocodiles, and prolific birdlife. This is a highlight of the safari. Overnight: Buffalo Safari Lodge
Day 8 — Drive to Kisoro and Bwindi Region
Travel through the scenic Kigezi highlands, passing tea and banana plantations and terraced hills. Arrive in Kisoro and prepare for the gorilla region. Overnight: Gorilla Leisure Lodge or Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge
Day 9 — Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After an early briefing, set out to track mountain gorillas in Bwindi. Tracking time varies and may involve steep, muddy terrain; the reward is an intimate encounter with these gentle giants. Briefings will cover etiquette and safety. Later, transfer to Kisoro town to rest and prepare for golden monkey trekking. Overnight: Ichumbi Hotel
Day 10 — Golden Monkey Trekking and Optional Coffee Tour
Begin with a briefing and then trek to observe the playful golden monkeys among bamboo and forest. In the afternoon, opt for a local coffee tour to learn about farming, roasting, and traditional processing. Overnight: Ichumbi Hotel
Day 11 — Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
Head east to Lake Mburo National Park, stopping in Mbarara for lunch. Arrive in time for a night game drive to spot nocturnal species and enjoy the park’s intimate savanna and wetland habitats. Overnight: Rwakobo Rock
Day 12 — Game Drive and Canoe Ride on Lake Mburo
Start with an early game drive to seek zebras, impala, topi, eland, and predators. After a late breakfast, take a tranquil canoe ride on Lake Mburo to view hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds from the shoreline. Overnight: Rwakobo Rock
Day 13 — Return to Entebbe via the Equator
Drive back to Entebbe with a stop at the Uganda Equator for photos and souvenir shopping. Check in at 2Friends Hotel and enjoy a final evening in town. Overnight: 2Friends Hotel, Entebbe
Day 14 — Mabamba Swamp Shoebill Tour and Departure
On your final morning, visit Mabamba Swamp for a guided boat trip in search of the elusive shoebill. Return to Entebbe for onward travel or airport transfer, carrying memories of Uganda’s wildlife and landscapes.
