Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi The Gorillas Forest
Today we shall drive from Kampala to Bwindi National park which is approximately 9/10 hours of driving.
We shall stop at Uganda Equator for coffee/Tea and photos and then proceed via mbarara.for lunch at Igongo museum and cultural center
We shall see lots of banana plantation and coffee trees . Dinner and overnight at lake Mutanda resort/Rushaga gorilla lodge/ICHUMBI lodge/Gorilla valley lodge/
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi Impenetrable National park.
Today, After an early Morning breakfast prepare yourself for an encounter with the Mountain Gorillas.Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boasts both Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzees - the only forest in Africa which can make this claim in fact. It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies and 360 birds.
Given the fact that gorilla tracking time is unpredictable, it is difficult to foresee how many hours you will actually hike. The escapade of tracking the gorillas in the superb ecosystem of the park will be passionate for the adventurers. It may take 2hrs up to 5 hours or more and you should be prepared to walk long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas.
This is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own Gorillas in the Mist.
After Gorilla trekking we shall return to the lodge
Day 3: Batwa tribe visit.
Today we shall visit the batwa people who are former forest people to learn about how they history and survival.
They lived in the forests of Bwindi and Mgahinga Gorilla national parks before they got evicted to pave way for gorilla conservation and will demonstrate how they collected fruits, game hunting and made fires.
Day 4. Coffee Tour and transfer to Kyanika boarder
This morning we shall have community coffee tour around lake mutanda.
Here we learn about coffee farming, picking coffee, locally roasting and grinding it on 3stone fires.
